Default New Paint Detail

I just bought a 67 convertible that has new base coat / clear coat paint. Anybody have any suggestions on wax / polish process and products. I've heard about "cutting in", but don't really know what that is and if I should do it. Thanks in advance for any help!

cutting in refers to rubbing compound and polishing with a 1500 to 2000 rpm buffer...if your clear is in good shape go ahead and do it...its not for bigginers you can cut right through the clear....i would just use a finer white rubing compound and buff it manually/by hand<~~~ hard work
