Default MSD6AL Question?

OK Guys I have a tech question? I'm installing a new MSD 6AL box on the 69.

For you MSD guys out there here is my question.

It seems like a really simple setup. I'm, running a MSD Pro Billet Dist.

Looks like there are a Red and Black thick wire that goes from the box all the way to the Battery, I have that completed and then there is another smaller red wire that goes to a 12volt source, I just ran it to the Fuse box that has 12 volts. and when I check the orange and Black wires that go to coil with my voltmeter I'm not getting 12 volts?

With the two power leads and the little red wire connect to 12vs I thought the coil leads should be showing 12 volts??? Is that correct?

If so any Ideas on why It would not be showing 12 volts on the coil leads.

I'm baffled...

Default msd

Make sure the small red wire is going to a ignition feed terminal not a continuous 12 volt feed. I am assuming you have hooked the lead to the distributor, two wire plug is supplied with box and will hook direct to distributor terminal. Make sure that the source fuse you have tapped into hasnt blown a fuse.

Thanks,

I hooked the Dist and wires up and it fired up? I have no idea why the coil orange lead do not have 12 volts when the key is on... but hey its running... so guess they are not suppose to.... weird i think.

Curious MS69, did you do a standard firewall mount above the heater box with the MSD box?
