Default Which manual to purchase?

Hello gents!

So far you guys have helped with the parts ( saving me quiet a bit of $$$). Today I received my factory assembly manual in the mail. I thought it would include close to everything I need to know to put the car together. However, its a diagram of how things go together... no real torque specs or information on how to properly remove or install anything.

So my next question is.... which manual should I buy to help me through this process? I dont want something that tells me how to change the oil... I need something that tells me how to properly torque the heads and remove the glass.... etc.

Thanks again!

If you want to do something chances are someone has done it and posted the video or step by step on the internet. I wouldnt spend money on a manual when there are tens of thousands of DIY postings available for free at your fingertips. Plus there probably is not one manual for everything you need anyway.

for torque specs on engines and stuff like that look for an oler chiltons manual. i use the one my grandfather has had forever i think its from 76? but it has all the spec on torque specs and the order you tighten head bolts to correct dwell and timing for the motor. its kinda of funny to read because they have a chevy car section then a corvette section because the corvette was always a little different

The best manual would be the factory service manual. Helm inc sells the official FSM which has all the factory repair info. You did not mention the year of your car, but you can see what is available on their web site: www.helminc.com.

Sorry, Its a '67 RS.

I was looking into a Chiltons but the reviews I read were terrible. Ive grown up using Chilton manuals on everything so I was confident that they would provide all the information I needed. A lot of the reviews say the manual doesnt touch enough on 1st Gen Camaros?

I have a 1967 Camaro "Factory Assembly Instruction Manual".... but I already explained that in the first post.

Ill look into helminc and see what I can figure out.

Thanks for all your help guys!

The factory assembly manual does not have the information you are looking for, but the Factory Service Manual will.
