Hey Harley Rider,

What brand of sound deadner did you use in the 68? I am in the process of trying to get my 68 back together and am looking for something cheaper than Dynamat, is it stick down or did you have to use a glue?

Thanks,

Thanks,
the brand I used in the camaro was GT MAT. I have also used FAT MAT.they are both self adhesive and about half the price of dyna mat or hush mat ,with no difference in quality .the gt mat has a thicker product I used on the fire wall. you can get both on e-bay.

Thumbs up

Harley Rider,

Thanks alot for the info on the matting, I like cheaper but not at the cost of lousy performance so I'm glad they work good and are cheaper, it looks like I'm going mat buying. I cant wait to see the next installment of the rebuild.

Thanks again,

That looks great, I cant wait to see it finished and back on the road. I was working on mine today and got the brakes all together and the steering all back together, it is fun playing where did I put that? when a car has been taken apart as long as mine has. Also on the GT Mat, what kit did you use for your setup? I did not know there were so many....

50 sq.ft is enough to do floor and firewall .if you want do the doors and trunk you will need more.

got the windshield and back glass in found some correct date coded glass.workin on the grille found some sheet metal issues that need to be corrected before I can finish the grille. did find out if the doors work, not at first .found out that there is a switch on the air relay, turned it on and switched the green and red hose on relay.come to find out repo relays are the same for 69 or 68 but hose routing is back wards. started on all the RS trim, it is turning out to be a pita ,drilling holes on new paint will make ya nervous. got the wheels and tires on too. check out those red lines. red lines always look best on black cars.

Sad to read, Such a nice '68.
I was hoping to see her finished.
Back away from her for a few days, take a break, get the mind at ease.
Then return.
