Sorry Bullitt, i trashed it , it was pretty sad as a lot of the clip's had broken and it was sagging for year's . I know Rick's Camaro's has them !!

I'm so glad to see this thread. I've got new, still in the box hood insulation that came with my 69, but love the look of the painted underside of the hood. I'm happy to hear I don't need to install the new insulation.

Thanks all!

After not having it, I put it back in. Adds originality at relatively low cost.

what hood are you running? i have the ss hood and i dont run insulation at the moment but im going to be because the heat from the motor is actually starting to yellow my ss hood inserts and is baking the black paint off in them

I've got the original SS hood. I did have to cut a circle out of the insulation for the air cleaner, but it looks pretty natural. My inserts haven't yellowed, but the black paint has flaked. I attributed it to my not properly sanding the surface when I repainted them though - they're also the original inserts.

I've never had insulation under the hood of my cars and haven't had any paint issues.
It's been like that for 10 years.

Although, I have been considering sticking Dynamat in the cut-outs on the underside of my hood to dampen vibrations.
