Help find my car
Trying to find my dad's first car.
1968
Lemans Blue
Sold to a dealer in Cassville, MO around 1989.
Their records do not go back that far and he can't find the VIN number. How else can I try to find this for him?

Even with the vin its a crap shoot, without it how could even be sure it was it? Car could have been painted 3 times and converter to a SS/RS clone. Needle in haystack and the needle is painted yellow.
Post online is about your only hope and someone remembers buying it from the dealership, assuming that person is still alive and assuming the dealer did not run it to the auction, which is what most regular dealers would have done with a specialty car like that.

Gorn is right, you probably have a better chance of winning the powerball lottery even if you had the vin. Chances are the car no longer even exists so I'd suggest doing a recreation. Finding another '68 and making it exactly the same will be a whole lot less time consuming and it's doable, especially if you have any pictures of the original car and or memories of how it was equipped. I'd love to have my old '69 back, built it starting way back in 1977 and sold it when I had to buy a home for my growing family back in 1990. Wish I could buy it back for the paltry sum I sold it for back then.
