Default Heartbeat city customer service

I purchased an intake for my 69 copo from Heartbeat City. When I received it I realized it was a Jan 68 intake not the Jan 69 I requested. I called to return it and asked if they had a Jan 69 to exchange. The owner got on the phone and started to yell at me cuz obviously I was wrong about the date, I explained it's a 68 intake the date is clear although the tag says 69. He keeps yelling I ask why is he yelling he hangs up. I get him back on the phone he goes off on a diatribe about Canada being a socialist country how much he hates our systems etc. I'm taken aback but just keep trying to be nice and solve my problem. After listening to more of his abuse about our country he puts someone else on. I don't realize this I just thought he calmed down so I try and find a solution we come up with one he says I'll ask the owner...ok....the owner gets back on starts yelling again how he's not paying Canadian taxes. What the hell??? How is this guy in business?? Says send it back I'll charge you the difference for another one. Difference?? I have to pay shipping, brokerage fees etc and how do I trust a guy who hates me cuz I'm Canadian?? I will never spend another dime with this clown!!!

I just saw another complaint about them on a different Camaro forum. Something about how Heartbeatcity messed up the order (sent the wrong part), then blamed the customer, and then told them to never shop there again. Sounds like it is "Buyer Beware" with this company.

WOW! I'll remember that. Never have bought anything from them, but never will now.

Yeah it was totally uncalled for. As a business owner myself I realize how tough it can be but he was way outside the lines on that one with his political rant. In a way it was so crazy it was funny except I still have the wrong intake. Never had anything like that happen ever. With the economy so tight you'd think they would want to look after you. As soon as I asked if he had another one to exchange it he lost his mind. Wonder what he would have done if I had asked for a refund? Lol!

Just curious, what kind of an intake is it?

im very sorry this happened to you.

I want to just point out you guys should be very careful with how much further this goes, we dont allow bashing of any companies on here because it may effect our vendor status down the road. you never know. just keep it to the facts please

It's the correct winters intake but the wrong date by a year. My car has a Jan 69 production date. That's what I was looking for and paid for.

I'm in business myself so I understand the unfair bashing thing but the truth is what the truth is. Those are the facts. First time I've ever posted about a business. Hopefully the last. It was an easy problem to solve....return the intake send another one out, cover the cost of the shipping. I would have been very happy with that.

Anyone have a Jan 69 intake for a Copo? Selling the other one.

With your car having a Jan 69 production date, your intake wants to be dated earlier than that. The engines were assembled prior to the car, and engine components (like the intake) were manufactured prior to the engine assembly. If you're going for date correct, a Jan dated intake on a Jan car isn't right. You want one that's dated the later part of 68. So actually, the one you received is more correct than the one you thought you wanted.

The body of the car is last week of January and the block is first week so the intake would have matched perfectly. I'm aware a Dec or nov 68 would have also worked but Jan 68 is too big a gap. Thanks for your input.

So your from Canada aaaaaa.....just joking.

I would like to say not all of us hate Canucks, infact I'd like to say thank you for giving us the great sport of hockey

Played it for years when I was younger and still love it, just can't play anymore due to my knee's.

Being a goalie does have it's disadvantages

Oh and my favorite team is the Maple Leafs, just don't tell the owner of Heartbeat City or he might come yell at me.......

I'll make a note not to use them as I was just looking at their site not to long ago.

Bruce
