Default It has begun.

Hi,
Well, the time has come to restore grandpa's 68 RS convertible. After a thorough sandblasting, I brought her to a local welder for new quarters and lower door skins. Aside from the hole in the floor that I opened up for a new shifter, (3-speed to 4 speed conversion) I also cut a hole in the dash for an aftermarket radio. (The stupid things we do as kids! [:@]) Now I need to fix it. My welder recommended I find a donor 68 so he can piece it in for proper fit. I know I can buy a new bezel, but the dash has proven impossible to find.

Any ideas??? I can't be the only idiot to have cut this open!

Oh and I'm thinking of painting her black. She was butternut yellow originally, than painted red after a brief mid-life crisis. Black is tough to make look good, but I think it's worth the extra trouble. Comments???

Thanks!
