I take the door shut fine before you added the new rubbers or did you have the door off completely?
I had the same problem with mine, I had to adjust the door striker a little bit, but the more you use the doors, the better they will close.

the door shut fine and then i have put the rubbers on. when the rubbers are on the door i have tried all the combination for adjusting the door. but it didn t shut completely.
i have this problem whit the two doors.
can it be that they put 2 doors of the model 67 on my model 68 and that give that problem?
thanks already for the quick reaction.

I know on mine, the doors shut fine and then I added the new rubber and I had to slam the doors shut. I played around with the door striker and I got it to work.
I also did my in-laws 78 Firebird and the same thing, the door shut fine, but when we added the new gaskets, they wouldn't close right, so I moved the striker out. We had to slam it for a little but the gasket finally broke in and started to shut right.
You got to remember, the old gasket would compress flat and now your adding new material and it won't compress as much, so just keep at it. It took me several tries to get the striker where it would work for me.
Also make sure the bottom of the door, is equal to the rocker panel. If you notice it's going in some, pull it out to keep things equal.
It's a game.....

What is your weather like? A good cooking outside on a hot sunny day may help soften the seals up to help. If it's cold where the car is, the seals will be stiffer. Did you replace the upper window seals as well, or just the lowers on the doors? Try with the windows down if you replaced all. Without being there, it's hard to say whether or not you may need a door latch and/or window adjustment. You might.
