Default Console Ammeter Connection

The console ammeter has a connector with two wires:
a Black wire and a Black and White wire.
The ammeter terminal has one screw that is silver the other copper colored.

Which way does the connector go? Black wire to silver post and B/W to copper? or the other way?

The easy way to determine is to connect the battery and check to see if the needle is going in the right direction. But my car is apart and I would much rather not disassemble the console gages once it's together.

Does anyone have a picture of the wires/connectors at the gages of the console?

Thanks,

Vic

I have a schematic showing the black wire connecting to the top post and the blk/wht wire connecting to the bottom post of the gauge. Top and bottom being if you were looking at it in normal installed position.
