Default Chrome over gutters removal

In the restoration process, how do I remove the chrome pieces that covers the gutter without destroying it? It is a couple pieces that is in great shape that can/should be saved. If I could get a pic up it would be posted.

it should be slipped over it. i can remember putting mine back on but it was so long ago taking it off, plus i was 9 years old when it came off. i think you just have to pry on it a little on one side to get it to slip of. the coners go first then the main bigger pieces. i do remeber when you go to put it back on that you need to be carful on the piece that is curved because it will get kinked very easy. i hope this helps. i honestly though can not remeber how they came off since i was too little to remember on mine.

Removed the corner pieces earlier tonight. The longer pieces from corner back are causing me issues now.

Camaroboy68ss, are you going to be in town Memorial Weekend? I will possibly be in the Scio area. Would like to meet up if possible.

Default Removing gutter trims

They are not hard to remove, just start at one end and very slowly pry from the bottom with a wide pry bar a little at a time and move slow , not prying out too far at one time, just keep moving along and it will come off in a curving motion being careful not to kink it. You just put it back on in reverse.

Didn't work so well. To the recycle bin one side went. Haven't tried the other. Decided to walk away after the first. Kinked about half on the passenger side. The motor and driver side trim is all that remains before blasting.

Was hoping to have it ready for blasting last week. $$$, motor lift and trim shot my time line out of wack. It will continue tomorrow night though....
