Default Which to buy? RS/SS 350 coupe or base Convertible?>

Which one will be worth more in the long run? Im looking at 2 project cars right now but cant decide which one to buy. They are both the same price. One is a base convertible, powerglide, bolero red with red interior. The other is a real rs/ss 4 spd coupe, 4 spd, 12 bolt factory white with red interior. Both are 67's

Which one?

The convertible's generally bring more money than coupes. But, if you have a numbers matching Big Block SS, you've got something desirable. What you need to factor in also, is whether you prefer a convertible or a coupe to drive. Remember, either one is usually only driven on nice days.My preference is always with the top down.

I heard that the convertibles have a rediculous amount of body flex which can be hard on the paint and body lines. If it's going to be a collector car, I would go with the convertible and let it sit and gain value for having less miles.the convertible should always be worth more. But since I am a driver kind of guy, I might go with the RS/SS simply because I want the hideaway headlights but I'm kind of a young gun that likes to drive the value out of the car instead of let it sit and gain value. But if its an investment, I would probably go with the convertible as those seem to get more valuable almost exponentially.

Ummm, SS/RS 350 is not a big block. And verts do usually bring more money, but for myself I would go for the coupe and not have to deal with vert issues.

in 67 there were 19,856 V8 verts and 142,242 coupe's made. of those numbers 64,842 had the Z22 RPO. There were 29,270 SS350's built and 5141 SS396's. So depending on the mill in the cars will determine the value (restored) and rarity. Then again even though there were only 64 thousand Z22's there seems to be 100,000 of them on the road.

You are right, but he did say SS, there were two types in 67: SS350 and SS396. Unless you are refering to someone else, in which case...... never mind.
