broken horn on 69 Camaro
I recently purchased a 1969 camaro (YEAH!!!), but it came with a broken horn. In doing a little research, it looks like the problem can be:
1. a fuse
2. the horn relay switch
3. the horn button on the steering wheel
4. wiring
5. the horns by the radiator
One thing I would like to try is to see if I can just provide power directly to the horn to see if either work. Will I risk blowing it up if I apply a 12 volt power source such as from PowerProbe to the horn? Anyone have a good set of troubleshooting procedures before I start buying replacement parts?

The horns run off of 12 volts, so jumping a hot wire to them won't hurt. That's where I would start, to determine if the horns are good or not. Make sure the horns are grounded well, and if they don't beep, they're bad. If they do beep, check the wire with a test meter to see if you're getting power with the horn button pressed. Also make sure the connections at the horn relay are good, they could be corroded. Or, the relay itself could be bad.
