Anyone know if I can change my grill to a 1969 SS grill if I wanted to make a clone? Any mods required? thanks

Sweet! Hope it's as nice in person as it looks in the pictures. To answer your grill question, the SS model uses the same standard grill, so I presume you mean the RS (hideaway headlight) option?
www.classicindustries.com sells an RSconversion kit (grill, headlight assemblies, vacuum components, etc.) for around $1,000 that includes everything you need to convert your standard grill/headlight assembly over to make it operatelike it came from the factory. The things that need to change on the car would be to install the headlight assemblymounting bracketsto the inner edge of the fenders where it meets thegrill, and you would have to drill holes in the inner fenders to clear the bellcrank shaft. You could also buy the components separately and convert the headlights over to electric if you don't want to mess with all thevacuum crap. Also to make it look like an authentic RS, you will need to replace the standard tail lights with the RS style, and install the reverse light assemblies in the panel below the bumper.

As said above, the SS grill is the same as the standard grill. The SS emblem is a separate piece that is fastened to the grill. As long as a previous owner didn’t glue the original emblem in place it should be easy to change. You can purchase reproduction SS emblems at most first generation Camaro parts suppliers for a reasonable price.
