Since you're a stickler too, I thought you might want to update your 1969 grille color database...

For non-RS models:
SS: Black grille
Z/28: Silver grille
All other models: Silver grille
If any of the above cars was Tuxedo Black: Silver grille

All RS models: Black grille
If the car was black: Silver grille

i knew that all cars except the ss cars had silver but i didnt know that the black ss cars had silver grills. did they still paint the tail panel flat black on big block black cars?

Almost sounds like a trick question. No, the black models didn't get the semi-gloss black panel.

Thanks, I am off work this week and emptied out the trailer an checked out the parts car. I have all the original Z emblems and a good Z grill! A little clean-up work and they should look very nice!

Thanks, I have the catalogue and I was leaning in that direction as they have complete packages.

I was mistaken my z grill is cracked could not see until it was removed.

Does the quality vary between suppiers? Thanks in advance.

not really. there is some differences but not that much. most of the aftermarket stuff all has fitment issues. every piece of aftermarket on my 68 had to made to fit.
