Default 681/2 split grille?

Ive been talking with this guy who claims to have had a '681/2 split grille Camaro. Ive seen tons of 701/2 split bumper Camaros, but never heard of 681/2 split grille. Is this guy pullin my chain or???

Maybe it's a Firebird! They had a split grille! All year long in '68!
I think he's either pulling your leg, or maybe it's some Canadian version. Often times the Chevies built at Canadian plants had some weird body mods.

Not a Canadian version. Only place's where 1st gens were built were Norwood OH and Los Angelas CA. They didn't build Camaro's up here untill I believe the 4th gen cars, built in Quebec. Now all 5th gens are made in Oshawa Ontario Canada just outside of Toronto.

Must be talkin about a bird.

It's probably a misunderstanding of terms. The inner portion of the 67 grill followed the same basic contour of the outer surround portion of the grill. But on the 68, the inner portion of the grill protruded out more and came to more of a point. Some call it a split center because it was a more pronounced style than the 67. That, or he's referring to the RS model with the hideaway headlights and the totally different center grill.
But, there was no such thing as a 68 1/2. The 68 was a full year model.

I agree. No split grills in the '68 lineup. Maybe a custom or billet grill. Or like BB427 said, maybe he has a Firebird.
