67 - Help me figure out what I have here please...
 

Hi,

I was recently gifted a 1967 Camaro and i'm trying to find out what it's value is. I have no other plans but to enjoy the car but wouldn't mind knowing what I'm working with.

What information can I provide, that will help you help me?

Pictures? Okay of what part or area of the car?

Vin?

Well lucky pics in and out and of the motor would help.
Cars that old are hard to tell for sure what you have,so many have been cloned into SS or Z28's it's often hard to tell if they are the real deal or not depending on how detailed a clone job.
Is it a small block or big block? 4 speed,3speed,powerglide auto etc?
Do you have any history of ownership?
'67 was the first year for Camaro, values are all over the map.
A straight six 3 speed plain Jane and a Rare as hens teeth '67 Z28 would be very far apart in value.
It was also the '67 SS that was the first car to get the 350 engine and in '67 the only car to get the then new 350 so you can see a lot depends on what Camaro from '67 you have and how original it is.
Our Hopes Had Been Raised

Your 67 will have a cowl tag just to the left of the brake master cylinder. That can be de-coded and it will list all the options that came with the car. Assuming it is not matching numbers SS or even a SS the original options becomes less important and the condition of the car is a larger factor. You are lucky in that 67 is the only year that has this detailed options tag.

There are some odd ball combinations out there that could be worth almost as much as an SS. I didn't mention the Z28 because there was only 602 of them and for the most part it is known where they are, there are fewer then 100 unaccounted for.

As Y2K and Gorn suggest, take the cowl tag info and research at www.camaros.org as the KurtS has lots of info available.

Small block - 4 speed of unknown origin...

Most recent owner doesn't know much about the car - I do have the previous owner's name but haven't reached out just yet.

Thanks for this info... It made for a fun evening with my kids. We used the the camaros.org suggestion below... Here's what we came up with.

Body build date code: 11C = Third week of November 1967
Body style code: 67-12437 = 67 standard interior, coupe
Assembly plant code: NOR 35240 = Norwood, Ohio factory
interior trim code: 760-Z = standard A50 Strato Bucket seats (no headrest)
Interior paint color: E = Black
exterior paint code: L-L Tahoe Turquoise

I like this color a lot more knowing that it's the original color. Respray perhaps? Shines but there are plenty of chips here and there. No rust that I can find...

Look like someone put 350 V-8 badges on the fenders, probably is a 350 but likely started life with a 327.
Definitely wasn't a big block, would have a different heater box with hoses on the other side.
Motor obviously not very original as far as bolt ons with the HEI dizzy update and headers and valve covers etc.
No power steering or AC, probably a plain jane model Camaro like the '69 I had.
Looks pretty nice overall, hopefully the 4 speed is a Muncie or T-10 and not a Saginaw but given the price I guess it's a great deal whatever it has. lol. Does it have a 10 or 12 bolt rear end (posi?) and mono or multi leaf rear springs?
Disc or drum brakes up front? Looks like it has power brakes, booster looks new so I wonder if it's just new or converted.

You're welcome - Look at pass side engine deck in front of cyl head and behind present gas filter.
If block has not been decked, partial vin & engine code should be still there.
Take picture and post here.
Nice Camaro, but '67 did not come with rear spoilers and all models came with single leaf rear springs.
