ok so here are the pics of when mine got repaired. I understand about not wanting to cut out the whole panel. We didnt either because of the cost. I cant take any measurements for you since mine is all restored and the dash panel is on now and car is painted. But this is what my body guy did.

Is this what yours looks like now?

What he did was to cut a piece of sheet metal to match the rusted part he would have to cut away. Then he would weld it on and smooth it out with filler.

I guess the biggest problem I have is that when I got the car the guy before me had already cut out the rotten part and I dont have anything to go by. Your Pics are a good start. My only other concern is ensure that the windshield seals fine when everything Is put back together. I wll need to temp install windshield and use your pics for reference. Thanks again. Gary

Ah I see. That would be a problem. Do you know a body shop that you could talk to about this? They would probably have some good advice for you or maybe know what you should do. Take them a pick or like I said in the other thread, call Rick's 1st gen or NPD and ask for some measurements. Another thing maybe to get ahold of a camaro restoration manual. That may have some dimensions of the panel.

You could buy that new cowl pannel and cut out the part you need and weld it in.
