Default 67 10-bolt rear "C" Clip removal

hey everybody,
I am about to replace my rear drums with a Disc brake kit. In order to do this I need to remove the real axls so that the drum assembly can be removed. So if I understand correctly the way to do this is to remove the differential cover and pull out the 2 C clips that hold in the axls. Once removed the axls will easily come out and there is no need for a axl puller.

so my qestion is.... When I go to re install the axels should I re use the existing "C" clips or should I replace. Is there anything I should replace while I have the axls out?

Anybody who has done this brake swap find out that there is alot of extra $$$ associated with do the kit ?

Remove the set bolt in the carrier and slide the spider gear cross shaft out, along with the gears. Don't mix up the spider gears, keep them marked top and bottom. Then you can push the axles all the way in, remove the c-clips, and slide the axles out. Installation is the reverse. Replacing the wheel bearings would be a smart idea. Replacing the c-clips isn't necessary, but if I had them out and in my hand, I would.

There is a cool video on youtube. Just enter GM diff c-clip removal and you should see several videos. Have a magnet ready for the stuff that falls in the diff! Keep the shims with each of the spider gears as well. No big deal, just did it last weekend.

If you change the axle bearings, these make life easy.
