Default 199 mph record setting 67 camaro

here is a video of a run in my 67 camaro at maxton.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6ydO4...e=channel_page

hit the HD button on the bottom right side of the video to watch in high def.

I ran in B / Classic Fuel Altered. Motor is a 427 small block with SB2 heads.

she rides smooth as silk.... if you turn the volume off it would feel like a cruise down the highway...
not bad for 200 mph

What would prompt someone to run their car on a surface that was that sh-it-ty putting their life and livelyhood in danger like that? I don't care what speed your car can go.

I sure hope there was a qualified safety crew around. No guardrails and that car is off on a barrel roll to oblivion.

For me , it is setting records... Why would anyone build a muscle car with 800 hp and never find out what it can really do ? And setting records seems more worth while than just talking about what i think it can do :-)

I am sure everyone has limits to what they will do , but this is much safer than driving this fast on a street. With the amount of lift the car has and lack of brakes capable of really working at these speeds it would be insanely dangerous to drive this fast on a highway.

There are fire and safety crews there, and the cars need alot of safety stuff to get teched for 200 mph. There have been no car fatalities at Maxton , but there was a motocycle rider that went down last year. It had nothing to do with the track surface , but at 215 mph leathers and a helmet do not guarantee anything ... Now they may be the really insane bunch.

Did I mention that I set a naked bike record at 190 mph there :-)
