Default 1969 rs ignition coil wiring

Manual shows a yellow 20 wire from R terminal on starter solenoid going to pos terminal on coil. I see it attached to the solenoid and where it "was" attached to the other wire's connector going to the pos coil terminal. I'm trying to find it and reconnect....where does it exit the wrapped wires coming from the solenoid. I can't seem to find it in order to reconnect it.

Thanks

Unwrapped some of the tape and found the yellow wire was attached to the resistor wire....didn't realize they were bound together and couldn't be seen individually.

In your other thread you mentioned you have an electronic ignition conversion. What make?

Default electronic ignition conversion

It appears to be Pertronix, marked Ignitor 30X-V4. Although it worked fine before I removed the non-original wiring, I don't know why it's not working now. It appears the red and black wires from it are connected properly. Although it was operating fine and the car ran well, I'm going to re-install points and condensor back in and see if everything operates normally. I

Pertronix doesn't like the resistor inline. Remove the resistor and wire around it to give the Pertronix full 12v. power and it will work great.

Before you start taking stuff apart, follow up with your other thread, I walked you the ignition hookup info: https://camaroforums.com/forum/1st-g...ctrical-61589/

You R correct....the toggle switch I removed was an interrupter to a higher voltage power source for the Pertronix unit. When I removed the extra wiring and re-attached the wires, there wasn't sufficient voltage to start the car. I reinstalled points and condenser and wired as stock and it runs fine now.

Thanks....

I'm not sure what you're refering to regarding finishing my thread. I believe I've responded to them and indicated the problem has been resolved.

Thanks...

Because you said this:

Which gave me the impression maybe you didn't check over the wiring hookup as I described in the other thread. The Pertronix worked before you undid/redid the wiring, so something isn't/wasn't right. Plus in that thread you said: "I assume that means that the red wire from the distributor goes to the pos coil terminal?" Which is incorrect. The wire from the distributor goes to negative. Was just making sure you had it all ironed out before taking the electronic ignition back out and going back to points, which you already did though.

One thing I see quite often on conversions is people hooking negative to the car's ground, and then also to the - side of the coil. Grounding the negative side of the coil will cause the spark to drain off there, and not at the spark plug, and it wont fire properly.
