Hi. I have a 1969 RS that has a big block heater and big block engine mounts and factory tach. But it does not have power disc brakes. It has manual drums on it. Was a big block available in an RS car but not be an SS or could it be an SS? The motor is missing but was a 4 speed car. Any info would be great, I just want to know if all big block camaros are SS? thanks

 

All 4 of the 396 options required the Z27 package (SS). The COPO 427 cars did not require the SS option to be purchased. Also, a RS/SS car would have SS badges as they took precedence over RS badges.
