1968 rs value

Ihave a 68 rs that i am thinking about selling. it has a 327/275hp with a 3 speed saginaw on the tree numbers matching.Body is straight but needs painting and has rust around rear window. it has standard blue interior that needs to be recovered along with the carpet headliner and the door panels needing to be replaced. Is the 3 speed on the tree a rare option and does it make the car worth more or less? The car still runs good and is all original under the hood including smog.Any ideas of its value??.....thanks

RE: 1968 rs value

Its hard to tell all the numbers matching is a plus but, the rust hurts the value and its hard to tell how much rust there is without pics. Remember that RS is only an apperance package but if my memory serves me right there where less RS's in 68 then SS's depending on the overall condition 9,000-11,000 assuming everthing is there and it runs.

RE: 1968 rs value

FYI: 3 on the tree is notthe option with they M-15 trans, three on the floor is the option while 3 on the tree is standard. The reason you do not see many colum shifters is because they where very unpopular in the 70's/80's and most where converted to the floor shift.(hurst made a kit for $79)You do have a very uncommon combination. Not many people spent the money to upgrade to the better 275HP engines and keep the base transmission that was so common in the 6bangers.
