Default 1968 396 Short Block

Hey guys I have a 68 396 short block out of a 1968 SS Camaro Block number 3916323 Date code Feb 8 68 Stampng number TO229MX. All machine work is done new crank and rods rings abs bearings. My question is how muck is the short block really worth I have seen this engine block listed for upto 2800.00. Thanks

Listed and sold are two different things. MX tells that it is out of a ChevyII (Nova) with a manual transmission. Someone building a 68 or 69 Nova may give that for it but I wouldnt hold your breath. $1500 sounds more realistic.

The MX suffix code was used for both the Camaro and Chevy II. It's the same engine for both.
The partial VIN would tell the rest of the story though. The Camaro VIN series is # 300001-up, Chevy II is # 100001-up.
