1967 Camero Coupe Project
 

Greetings, I'm a newbie to this forum and hope to gain some advice on where to go with a project I just acquired. I have a 1967 Coupe with the basic model trim, 250 inline 6 cyl and 3 on the tree three speed manual tranny. The car is all original and was the 800th Camaro produced. I am the 3rd owner and aside from some minor body damage and a spot of rust in the low lying areas the car is solid.
I'm torn between the decision of restoring the car back to the original correct configuration or turning it into street rod of the era. It's kind of a blank canvas at this point. What would you do?

The real question is how much money are you willing to dump in to it and never get back?

Right, so a Camaro project is like the Titty Bar? Won't be the first project I've dumped thousands into with little prospect of return. I have pretty much decided to mod the car and save the original parts.

These cars are so much about the car being special to decide what you do. Your lucky to have a blank canvas and can do anything. A Z28 or RS or SS equipped that guy can be limited to what makes sense if its an original car. Since you have the basic of cars you can do anything. I would sit down and plan the project and figure out what your going to do and what the end goal is. Determine if it has rust and where and look at all the usual suspected areas. Then design your budget so you know what your going to spend. Then determine where to do the project and figure out where your going to store parts while your doing. Finally starting the project as you go tag and bag everything. I mean everything no matter how small it gets bagged and tagged. Then you can figure out the parts you can reuse and the parts your going to replace...
