Does your car have the hook brackets? There would be one on either side, mounted to the floor, under where the front portion of the rear seat would sit.
I'm not sure if those would have been installed there from the factory on a car that was destined to have a fold-down seat.

I have the welded floor brackets on each side for the rear fold down seat hidges. (I have the seat hinges that attach to the floor and to the rear upper section seat). I cannot find a good rear fold down seat. I have a good Conv seat but allways falls down. If it was a reqular coupe would there be hooks mounted on the back panel? If so i guess i will have to make some hooks for temp. to hold seat up. What is your thoughs. Thanks

So it's only the backrest you're having trouble with? On the back side of the backrest, there's a tab on either side at the top, and they slide straight down into a slot on the body. Then the hoops on the lower part of the backrest get bolted to the vertical part of the back floor. If that upper mount area isn't there on your rear body panel, maybe from inside the trunk area you can improvise some sort of steel bracket that hooks around to catch on the upper deck. Or....a couple of bungee straps hooked to the seat springs and connecting to the trunk latch brace. ;)

Rare Option

Too bad that you can't get a fold down to put in.....these are not a frequent option, from my experience.
So, you may have to "invent" some simple brackets to secure the seat.
Good luck.
