15" wheel + tire sizes for 68

I recently was given a set of four 15" wheels for my 68 327. The wheels are 15x6 and 15x8 and have the correct bolt pattern. My car is completely stock, no upgrades to the rear shocks. Will the 15x8's fitonthe rear as is? If so,howlarge a tirecan I put on them? Thanks for the feedback.

RE: 15" wheel + tire sizes for 68

I have 215-65x16 on the front and 255-60x15 on the rear of my '68 and have plenty of room to go bigger. the offset of your wheels will make a difference. If they are like factory rally wheels, then they will fit. Although, 8 inch on the front will rub when you turn. The shape and size of the wheel openings allow for a vast number of tire sizes to be used.

I have P255/60R15's on my rears w/standard ride height with plenty of room still. No interference.Rims are 8" Torq Thrust II's, 4-1/2" backspacing I believe. Go with P215/60R15's on the front if your rims are 7" rims. If 6" then drop down a size.

I'm sure that the fronts are 6", had them measured. Not sure about the offsets though. I will have to research those. They are Weld Racing Prostars. Thanks for the replies.
