10 Bolt Conversion to Posi
 

I am looking at converting the 10 bolt rear end in my 1967 Camaro to a Posi. Does anyone have any recommendations on a kit and what to look out for? Thanks in advance for the help!

Auburn makes a good limited slip unit. I have put them in my past two cars. Gives around corners but puts power to both wheels under acceleration.

I'm thinking about doing this to mine, what does one of those kits cost?

where are you at in wisconsin?? i am switching to a 12 bolt and have a very nice running 3:08 10 bolt posi in the car now was gonna sell for 500 drum to drum!!
im about 45 minutes south of the wis. border on rt 39
its in my 68 and i have turned over a set of 295/50/15`s with it a few times.
i got a real good deal on the 12 bolt so thats why im switching!!

just a side note this isnt a pull this unit out and bolt this one in type of change... the whole set up has to be shimmed and properly gapped to avoid premature gear wear!!!
the posi unit will be 4-500 and then to have someone change it out 3-400 if you dont do it yourself!!

Not sure if your asking me, but I do not Live in Wisconsin, it's Washington state right by Portland Oregon. And I do realize it's not just a pull out procedure. My dad used to be a mechanic and has informed me what it takes to do a rear end. I had a 75 Jeep with a Posi rear end that had to be rebuilt.

IMO the Detroit True-Trac is the best LSD you can buy, it has no clutches to wear out and it operates with seamless transition. It needs no special additives either.

I had a locker in it before but I took it out because of the racket it would make around corners, now with the true trac I couldnt be happier.

The install is fairly simple for anyone with mechanical background, all you really need to reset its the lash of the ring gear.
