Default 2010 Camaro SS Manual Trans. Shifting Ques.

Hi All,
So I just got my new Camaro on Friday with a Manual Tranny. Anyone who has this car maybe you can answer my question. When coming out of first does your display say to shift from 1st to 4th with a picture telling you to do it? Also, I notice getting into 2nd from 1st is difficult and its probably because of the 1st to 4th prompt. Has anyone else had this happen and does anyone know what it means. I love the car its unbelievable!

In addition to my 2010 camaro, I also had a 2007 corvette, m6, and when driving slow, that can be a problem. In the Vettes we use the skip shift bypass, which my tuner put in, and I believe it's a special fuse, that is swapped in the fuse panel. No more 1-4.

yeah - when it gives you that message don't try and force it into 2nd because according to the manual it locks 2nd and 3rd out and forces you to go to 4th unless you give it a little shot of gas and then the message should go away...

Happens to me at the most inconvienent times. I had a guy ask if it was my first manual transmission. How embarassing.

Ya, 1SS for me too. It will only do it if you are moving in 1st and being conservative. Usually around the 10-15 MPH range.

Finally got tired of the 1-4 crap and put in the SLP eliminator. Got it from Summit for ~$30. Took all of 5 minutes to put in.

Took 'er for a spin around the block and when the 1-4 came up I showed my car who's boss and dropped it right into 2nd anyway.

Doesn't happen much to me...but when it does, it seems to be at the worst possible times , I'll be going the eliminator route this summer.

the eliminator is basically a resistor. I measured mine and I think was 30 ohm. It fools the ecm into thinking it still connected. Did the same thing on my 05 GTO M6.
