P0008 and Intermittent CEL - 2010 1LT 3.6L
OK, I've seen all the comments about the 3.6L engine having thrown the P0008 code and it being a known problem to GM, but GM hasn't recalled the Camaro, but it's recalled other GM cars with the very same engine.
My CEL came on about 6 months ago at 97000 miles. Fast forward to today and 10,000 miles later, here's what's happening (and not happening): The CEL light has been illuminating intermittently for about 30% of the time and the remaining 70%, well, not illuminating. Additionally, there has been no engine performance degradation whatsoever. My mechanic (not a dealership) has run the car when it throws the code and when it hasn't thrown the code, and is stumped. After running this sucker for 10,000 miles with the CEL intermittently activating, should I even be worried at this point? I'm not ready to put a piece of black tape over the CEL just yet, so any advice is welcome!
