Default coilovers or lowering springs,

I'm looking to lower my ride and was thinking about saving a little and taking the coilover route. I called by that works on suspension and he says he recommends just using 1.25" lowering springs. What do you guys think??

Thanks in advance for your help and opinions

Haven't ordered them yet. tried to do a little more research and and kept finding different brands all with good reviews so I guess it's gonna come down to $$$

I'm thinking hotchkis, haven't read any bad reviews from them. Only thing is that's only a 1"
