Default Bad placement of cup holders

I can't be the not person that feels this way, but having a bottle of water in the cup holder and trying to shift is ridiculous. I guess that they couldn't put under the radio because of the accessory gauges. I'm contemplating getting some kind of afterkmarket cup holder thing and figuring out a way to make it work out of the way. I've seen some cup holder delete plates, which gives a nice look. But i still need some sort cup holder in the car. I don't drive it everyday but when I do I might have to drive with the beer helmet but with water in it lol. Anybody else using something similar?

At least you gots a cup holder! The fourth gens got this half inch deep circle thing for a cup spiller. But yeah, I've seen the fifth gens and it's not much better than us fourth gens.

I usually only carry bottles with me in my car. Keep down by my leg so they're out of the way of the shifter.

I can see how it would be in the way of a stick shift. One of the pros of getting the paddle shifters. Though for cup holders I can not complain the Pontiac solstice and Saturn sky will for ever hold a place in my heart as the worst cup holders.

Just drink out of small sippy cups, that way when you're shifting you don't hit it.
