Question 2014 Camaro 2LS Radio Issues

I'm having some stock radio issues in my 2014 2LS.
When I start up my car the radio makes a loud popping noise through all of the speakers and the face plate flashes off and immediately back on. This doesn't happen every single time I start up the vehicle... but it happens a few times a week. It seems to only do it when the car is in park, it never pops or cuts off while I'm driving it. I've read some threads before where people have had the same issue but it affects their AC, blinkers, etc but I haven't had any of these issues. I watched a video on youtube where cutting the white wire behind the face plate resolves the issue for some people, but I'm not comfortable with cutting any wires. I wasn't too concerned about this issue until I came across a video somebody posted on social media where this guys Camaro actually BLEW UP due to "bad wiring in the stock radio"... NOW I'm a little paranoid lol. Also, I've never been able to get FM stations to work. XM radio works fine, but I'm not sure if I'm supposed to program them in or something? The dealer said it may need to be updated? But its not the MyLink radio so I'm not sure how I would update that? I plan on taking my car to a guy that installs stereos in a few days in hopes that he may know what to do... but in the meantime has anybody had this issue or resolved it?

I realize your post is over a year old, but I'm just wondering if you ever found a solution for this. I'm having the same problem, and I'm reluctant to cut the white wire everyone talks about. GM was zero help, even though this is obviously a common problem. Thanks!
