whats the best way to get a good price?
Yes, that's when the next model years start to come out.
The best thing to do is research. Make sure that the LS is what you want. You don't want to buy a car because the price is right or you'll be trading it in for something better down the road, and losing a lot on a trade in. LS go for around 23,850 after all of the delivery charges, thats with no added packages. After tax title license, 35% down = around $8,300, and with an avg. score of aroud 8% your prob. around 350 to 400 a month.
Yep thats about right. closer to the 500 side, you need full coverage insurance when financing a car.
$16,500 @ 5% for 6 years is $265 a month. For 5 years $311
Now insurance. I pay with 100/300/100 liability limits and 100/250 deductibles $634 a year and that is good insurance. That would be $52 a month.
So what should a LS with an $8,500 down payment cost per month including insurance?
$317 a month if financed for 6 years.
$363 a month if financed for 5 years.
I am personally paying $332.99 for 6 years for a LS with a sticker of $24,925 and a down payment of $3,400 .
Add my insurance @ $52 a month and my brand new Synergy green LS with automatic Transmission is costing me $385.83 a month.
More than that is a rip off
The main difference between dealer prices was the $5000 "market adjustment" that some dealers were adding. Coupled with a $2000 discount off MSRP and freebies at another dealer it amounted to an $8000 difference.
Where are you coming up with these figures? A new LS with an automatic will be roughly $25,000 out the door. I paid $23,980 for mine plus tax, and such. Let's just work with $25,000. He has a 35% down payment which is a really good down payment and should get him the best finance rates unless he just had a car repossessed last month. Lets round the down payment off to $8,500. That leaves the dude needing to finance $16,500. I got 4.09% financing and that was not incentive financing just straight up bank financing. Lets say 5% is all he can get.
