Default understanding exhaust

I'm deciding to go SLP LM on my 2010 SS. However, i'm a little confused on the difference of an AXLEBACK VS CATBACK. If for example, i'm to get a Axleback that means i would need a midpipe? or if i was to get a catback would that be the whole system? someone explain to me what i should do, if i should just buy the catback or buy axleback and the rest. thanks in adv

a cat back is everything from the catalitic converter back while axleback would be everything after the rear end, it might have the pipes that go over the rear and then connects there.

so its pretty much a difference in piping? axleback has the mufflers right? and also, what is a good site for me to order them from?

the main difference would be the amount of pipe. i think the mufflers are at the end on a 5th gen. i dont own one to know for sure. summit is usually a good place to order from also see what it would cost to go directly from slp

yes the mufflers are at the end. so from axle back to cat back is an extra half the price for just piping? ;/

If the catback tubes aren't any better conformed or bigger than what you have now, don't waste your money on a whole system.
I'd seriously look into doing something like this: 2010 - 2011 Camaro V8 Pypes Muffler Delete
I put muffler eliminators on my C4 Vette and it sounds great, although we're talking apples and oranges to your car.

First thing would be to educate yourself about how an exhaust system works. Learn about Mandrel bent tubing and learn what is under your car and the complete difference in all the exhaust options. You should never install anything you don't know about. That's like operating on yourself when your not a doctor. This way you can make the very best decision for yourself.
