Default Should i go full synthetic oil?

Hi there, a couple of things.
CAR: 2011 CAMARO 2LT RS

I took my car for a oil change at the dealer and it cost be 66 bucks! They used Dexros oil and said it was only available at their shop and not in canadian tire or mr.lube which i find highly un likley.

Now, if i switch to full syntheic, I know it is better for my car, and I can get oil changes every 10,000km or so and it will cost be about 99 bucks to get it done. However, i heard on cars that have high mileage ( over 120,000km) or so, the oil tends to burn faster, and more frequent oil changes are needed?

Any have experience for using full synthetic oil for a long period of time, is it worth the switch?

Thanks for your help!

The only oil meeting Dexos specs at this time, that is available from other sources other than GM is Mobil1 0w40. Synthetic oil is fine for high mileage cars, just get the proper viscosity. If anything. synthetic burns off less than petroleum based oils. You should read what your owners manual recommends. The factory that built your car knows knows more about your car's needs than some self appointed experts.
