Default Oil Change

I took my 2010 SS in for it's first oil change at 3000 miles yesterday. The guy asked if I was aware that it has the synthetic oil, which I didn't. Should I do the first oil change early? What is every one else changing their oil at? Thanks, jjenkins

Default Winter tires

I use my 2010 SS for business and drive all winter long. I can just wait for good weather, but I'm having trouble locating a set of winter tires. Has anyone driven the newer Camaros in the snow? How do they handle?

you should of posted this in the tech section, you'd get some answers then. I'm going to move it for you. Check the owners manual and it should tell you what the mfg. suggestion interval is. I do mine every 2K miles with mobil 1 syn, but I'm picky.

as far as the oil chage thing goes I only run synthetic oil in my car, they say with synthetic you only need to change your oil every 6k miles. But i still change mine after 3k. regardin winter tires....i mean do they make winter tires for camaros? jk I assume you can just go to your local tire guy and if you dont trust them than go to the dealership. I cant imagine trying to drive my car in the winter, i cant even get up my driveway with the snow we get.

all LSx engines require synthetic oil(mobil one from the factory).i have my first oil change done at 1K miles to eliminate any loose metallic particles that may float aroung during break-in period;every 3K after that.the aftermarket corvette vendors sell a magnetic oil drain plug that actually does a good job of collecting particles.does anyone know if such an item is available for the camaro?
