Noise in reverse

Ok my Camaro makes noises in reverse and when it is idle but does not in drive.

Does anyone know what may be causing this. I let the dealership mechanic hear it and of course it wasn't as loud when I wanted to show him. It happens off and on.

Please help!

What kind of noise? Exhaust rattle maybe? Whatever it is it goes away under a load in drive when the motor torques again the drive one direction and in reverse it torques the opposite direction and is prevalent so that could mean something is moving and making contact somewhere.

slow speed noise - limited-slip differential?

I have a noise from the rear at slow speeds, forward and reverse, which in my imagination is the limited-slip differential ... resisting slipping. I notice it when turning. A groaning noise.

I have heard there are some later model cars that have noisy rear ends,a limited slip shouldn't do that if it has the correct lube in it. Mine doesn't make any funny noises.

That's what i was told that it may be exhaust rattle. I am looking to upgrade my exhaust anyway but i don't want to do it if it doesn't fix the problem. also, any recommendations on after market exhaust from the intake manifold back?
