Default "Local Market Supplement"

Stopped by a dealer yesterday to check out a 2010 2SS in Summit White with Orange Body Stripes and Inferno Orange and Black Leather interior. Beautiful! But when I checked the sticker the dealer had placed a $3,500 'Local Market Supplement' on top of the MSRP. Anyone else seeing this sort of thing going on?

Yep, only the one here was 5000, thats why I went to Denver instead.

Same thing when the 06 Eclipse came out. there was a 5K markup on that too, you just have to find a better deal someplace else if you can.

Ya, a $400 Plane ticket would be an investment at that point.
There are plenty of other dealers selling at or just below MSRP.

I think it is time for people to send a message to these dealers. It is just not right that they get bailed out to keep their jobs and then they put supplemetal prices on vehicles. Apparently these guys don't learn too quick. I think they need to understand they 'need' us and not the other way around.

Well to be honest if it was selling potatoes and you told me you wouldn't pay more than $1 and I knew the next guy would pay $2 no argument who would you sell the potato to? I know it isn't fair, but the dealer wants as much as he can for a product in limited supply. There are dealers out there that will not tighten the screws on you too bad though, and thats who you have to find.

Mine had $2,500 in St. Louis but I was able to work a deal. You have to find a dealer with a good bit of them in stock. They will be ready to deal to keep them out of or get them out of inventory. You should be able to get a little under List right now without any premium.
