Invoice on 2010/2011 Camaro SS?
I thought I posted this already, but I guess my post got deleted somehow? Anywho, does anyone know what the invoice price would be on a 2010/2011 Chevy Camaro? I'm looking to trade in my 2008 Avalanche, but I want to prepare some numbers beforehand. Thanks.
EDIT: Now I'm seeing my old thread. Mods, lock and/or delete, please.

I work as a salesman at a Chevrolet dealership. You are going to be hard pressed to buy a new Camaro at invoice. This being because the Camaro is still VERY popular and in high demand. Sometimes, we will sell 4 Camaro's in one day. The V6 versions sell like crazy and the SS models are hot sellers too.
The MSRP on a 2SS is around $40k. The 2SS is fully loaded, so if you purchase one for that price you will be paying MSRP (sticker).
A manual shift 2SS will set you back at just over $38,000 MSRP.
You might get one for around $1000.00 under MSRP, but that will be about it. A dealer will not sell a car or truck at invoice unless it is an unpopular (stagnant) model. They sometimes may do it at the end of the model year. For example, if it is 2011 and the dealer still has 2010's on the lot, they may sell them at invoice. But they will not have a 2010 on the lot unless it is a somewhat unpopular vehicle. That's also when the manufacturer will have incentives out. We don't have any 2010 Camaro's left, nor can we find any. So, none of this will likely apply to a new Camaro. The demand is simply too high.
Dealers also don't like to sell vehicles at invoice. This eats up their profit. Salesmen also do not like selling at invoice because their commission is directly correlated to how much profit the dealership makes on the vehicle. If a salesperson sells the car at invoice they only make what is called a "mini", which is usually around $100.00-$150.00. The last thing they want to do is spend 4 hours with a customer for a $100.00 commission. If they sold every car at invoice their families would starve.
Best time to buy a vehicle:
1. On a Wednesday (slowest time of the week for a dealership).
2. End of the month (sales quota's).
3. When new model year debuts (old models have to be sold).
4. The vehicle is unpopular (lots of incentives). Good examples of this are
the Chevrolet Impala & HHR.
There you have it. Hope that helps!

Why don't you check edmunds.com? They are a very good source of information.
And please don't rely on information your salesman gives you. You can buy any 5th Gen Camaro at invoice, at least here in California. I've been driving around past several Chevrolet dealers and they have plenty of Camaros. There are no more shortages.
I got mine at around $400 over invoice here in the San Francisco dealers back at the end of Oct '10.
I used the information I got from edmunds.com to negotiate my deal. Use it.
And don't let the dealers tell you that that it's not the real invoice, because it is (my relative works for the Nissan dealer and confirmed the information - invoice info at edmunds.com).
Good luck.

Invoice CHEVY online quote
Camaro. I went to Chevrolet.com and created my dream Camaro but I think it was a 2012 cause it was a Z28 and it booked surprisingly low @ only $42,600
See I have a 2002 that's in pretty sweet shape which was going to be traded to my son when he got his license, that was before we started riding dirt bikes, now he's got a 2005 GMC2500. Anway the dear hubby was making some pretty good duckets and I had the cash in savings just waiting for 2010, 11, or 12 to come around.
Then came 2008 election year, crash and burn of everything alot of people held near and dear and baam the hubby out of a job for a year and a half. It's just by the grace of God that we did have the money in the bank or we surely woulda lost our house.
Anyway I still look at those new babies and say I wantta be a dirt bike rider
