Default Halo lights?

Ok this might be a question that has been asked before, but here I go. Can halo headlights be installed in a car originally equipped with halogens?

Come on, I know someone here can answer this question. This is whats holding me back from the trigger on that black SS at the dealer. You guys know the feeling of wanting to drive that baby off the lot and taking it home, but I also want the halos.

The dealer says no. For me, where there is a will there is a way. Currently, my money pit is a '69 C10 so I haven't had a chance to try out my theory on the halo conversion. I think if you bought the HID kit for the non Halo cars (the H13 HID kit) and spliced the output directly to the bulb in the halo light assembly (bypassing the existing ignitor and ballast on the factory headlight assembly) it may work. Like I said, I don't have the funds to experiment on that right now so I can't say for sure this theory would work. Another issue is cost. The halo headlights are a pricey pair ($1200 if you're lucky) and the HID kit is another $200 for a respectable one. If you were wanting just the halos, Advanced Automotive Concepts can make halos for the non-halo camaro headlights. do a Google search and check out their site.

Pezlow, thank you bro. I knew someone here would know the answer. It seems to be somewhat of a project and a little pricey as well. I appreciate your help...... decisions, decisions, damn.

I bought a set of RS lamps for my non-RS. Unfortunately they are sitting in my living room. I got the AAC harness and it was totally junk. One other company claims to make a harness but I have yet to actually see them link to this mythical kit they sell. And thats it. I hope theres some 3rd company that makes a compatible harness. These headlights cost a lot of money and I hate seeing them just sitting around like this.

Well brothers, thanks for the help but I figured the best way to get the halos was to just by the RS, so I found a dealer in Oregon that had what I wanted and for the right price. It might take a few weeks to get it here to Hawaii but when it does......Ooohhh Yaaa.......
