Default confused..

I've seen a couple of people on other random sites that talk like the z-28 version will be faster than the ss? Is that what everyone else has heard too, because that wouldnt make much sense considering......thats not how it has worked in the past i dont think..

Maybethe z28 will be faster but i'm just looking for confirmation from people that may know

well over the last 10 years or more chevy has killed what ever they created, yes the z28 used to be the king and was faster than the ss, now z28 is the most common camaro seen, then they came out with their new ss line which yet again killed what ss meant and stood for, i never thought there would be an ss 4 banger

Yes they did kill the SS, it is sad when an SS car has less then 300 hp,but we all saw it comin with the mid 80's monte.

GM has killed a lot of respectable names...80's 442/Hurst Olds, the Malibu SS....I might get flamed for this but imo the 80's Z28 was pretty weak compared to it's traditional standards...

Ya, Z28s are pretty common, though not as much as the sixxers. If GM went back to the Z28 being the king it wouldn't bother me. I agree that it isn't quite right that they have SS 4-bangers, just not right. But they also have the Z24...which isn't right either.

ZL1 maybe? for the 454. i know that the 67 or 69 ZL1 had a 427 in it not a 454. But you'd have a 74 ZL1. I'd say the 454 qualifies for ZL1 badging..now if you were a six cylinder this would be a different story
