2012 SS Maintenance
This morning I put my new SS 2012 (600 miles) on the ramp and looked under...........NO GREASE JERKS. My '85 Camaro had jerks, trani drain plug! I read that trani work (oil change) should be done by mechanic due to "special process" involved. What could be so special about changing trani oil with the authorized dex 6 fluid or Transynd?
Obviously all the ball joints and steering linkage are sealed units. Are there caps I can replace those joints with that will take a jerk?. I hope this is not a car that I can't maintain myself and will have to take to a dealer and get "bent over" for $100.00 an hour to grease or change oil.
Do we have any knowlegeable fellas on board to answer me?

your talking about grease nipples on the tie rod ends and ball joints? the only way to get those is to replace the parts with greaseable parts but at 600 miles you dont need to grease them yet

LOL wow this is great!! The Jerk fittings? WTF? The only Jerk is the ones that dont want to listen to the experienced people and learn.
The fittings are called ZERK or grease fittings. They are not usually installed on newer vehicles as there is an additional cost, they are still available but you have to replace them with Moog or TRW or another top quality brand. At 600 miles you need to grease your new car already? Where the hell do you drive, tidal mudflats? Well for now you can go and get bent over by the dealer... Wait you may already have been if you didnt get a service plan with the car.
