2011 mustang

I own both a camaro and stang. I was in love with the new maro and was actually going to trade the pony for a yellow maro. But, since the GM bailout by the taxpayers, my mind was made up to wait for the new gen stang. I will probably trade my stang for a stang. I am not alone about boycotting GM. I love the 4th gen and the torque of the LT1 but I can't spend hard earned money on GM any more.

i did some more reading and it turns out that some others have actually said that the camaro is still a bit faster and that the other ones where using the automatic with less hp

Disagree. Those people are just trying to defend their purchases The Mustang is faster in a 1/4; stick vs stick or auto vs auto. Smoking Tire did a stick vs stick 1/4 mile drag and the Mustang clearly won. Don't fret though, let us see if Chevy can up it for the 2011 year so it can be a 2011 Mustang vs a 2011 Camaro.

yup, and Evolution Performance put on a K+N drop in filter, a cat back system, a tune that was not that aggressive, slapped on some drag radials and skinnies up front and ran high 11's. I think the best was 11.82

Someone came into Auto Zone today with the new Mustang V6 and said it requires premium fuel only. Haha, at least the Camaro can produce it's power on regular pump octane. I ran a 9.48 on the 1/8th track on 87; stock everything minus a spare tire.

That 5.0 Mustang is smaller, lighter and puts out more power to the rear wheels thru a 3:73.1 gear.
As far as the 11.8 second 1/4 mile, don't believe it. It would take a lot more than a few simple bolt-on parts to shave 1 second off the quarter mile.

Dont get me wrong, the mustang REALLY stepped up its game. Its a force to be reckoned with now. I wanna see what the production models 2011s will do. I really doubt GM is going to up the HP on the camaro.
