wow what tranny and rear end did you have on your 81?

well im pretty sure even 550+ hp would kill your camaro lol it would be most cars if the car was set up properly

well yeah the roadrunner would need some serious engine upgrades and probably suspension and tires, not sure what rear gears it had

I had the camaro when i was 20, about 18 years ago. I really didnt know a whole lot then, so I had a shop build a motor for me. It was $5,498 with all reciepts and dyno. The thing is, I kept the stock tranny and gears wich was probably a 350 turbo with 2.73's. I did have a B&M holeshot 1800-2200 stall and traction bars. That car had all the top end in the world and would outrun most of the muscle cars around on the street, but my dads 87 vette just tore it up. I remeber riding with my dad when he raced a triumph tr8 some guy had put a 283 in. That vette chiped 2nd and drive in the auto. It seemed like everything just worked so good together on that vette. Or course, at that age, my dad could drive a lot better too. I would just floor it and spin where he would gradually put the pedal down and get all the traction.

well you could of eaten his vette if you swapped out the gears for lower ones and got a lil higher stall like 2400

well yeah and traction would of helped lol

only one way to win: gut the CAT. no one shoot me, it works! i didnt have a CAT on my 80' WS6, but if i was smart, i would have put one on it, and then gutted it and made way more power!

best thing to do is just race him and find out. in a few weeks after all the mods are done, i am going to race my buddy in his 2003 M3. I know I will get my butt kicked, but the point is to have fun and drive hard down a straight strip. good luck, but i would be putting my money on the 2SS

the camaro will win with out a doubt even the 1990 lt1 might
but the camaro may be heavy but those extra gears it has are low im sure
which in the eighth im sure makes a difference

also you only did a cam?
no way you are going to get 105 horse from just a cam(mild at that)
heads?
