honestly no its not worth the cash you gonna need a full Lt1 engine, wireing harness, and gaughte cluster just to get it going then a new rear and and tranny to make it actually run like the V8 cars much cheaper to buy a already V8 car than do a swap

You dont need a new rear end or new tranny. The 4L60E was used in both v6 cars and v8 cars, the bellhousing will be a bit different, and I think you''ll need a new torque converter, but seeing how you stated you wanted it to be a 6 speed Im guessing you already know you need a new tranny.

Guys, honestly I think we need to be a little nicer to people wanting to swap. Ive seen alot of wrecked z-28s and trans ams in my area and an LT1 with a full wiring harness can be had for about 750$. Its a more viable option to some, and it certain instances can be cheaper if you can find a wrecked donor car.

Im just sayin....

to part one as i said in my post you need the egine harness and gauges to get it running... if you consider having disk breaks on all four and a posi rear no differant than a open diff and drums in the back the way most 6ers came to make no differance than okay....

as for part two your probably talking 750 for the harness. 200 for a full guarge set in tact.  1000 bucks for the engine.  3-400 for the pcm, then theres laybor which with mechanics today probly run you eh 2000. so 2000+1000+750+350+200=4300 bucks for a car that build from all used parts anyway. you can get a high milage LT1 for that easy. pulls you get the rear end and 4 disks on aV8 car saving you another 3-500 bucks

If youre going to talk about paying a mechanic to do the swap your in over your head already. Have you ever seen a salvage yard? You guys make it seem like this stuff is worth its wieght in gold, where ever your getting your prices from those are incredibly high. I dunno maybe its just me but you guys always quote prices higher than anything Ive ever seen, I mean 200 for a guage cluster? Are you buying new? Where do you get this stuff?
That, and 3-500 for a limited slip rear end with disc brakes? You REALLY need to be checking your information dude......

to 69 i just did a quick ebay serch and found no forth gen rear ends but the 3rd 2nd and 1st gens ones on there are going for 500-1000 bucks since 4th gen rears should be a bit more common in a junk yard id say 300 is a fair price
