hey guys, just got a 91 z28.

it''s been sitting for 8 months.  picked it up for $460.  it''s in amazing condition for the $ paid.  there is an oil leak. i''m praying that the head gasket isn''t cracked.  Hooked it up to a jump box and the engine turned over.  almost fired up towards the end of trying..  so i''m thinking when i get it home, change the fluids, fresh gas, clean/new sparkies and wires.. you guys got any ideas?

Do you have any pic''s. When you bought it did the previous owner give you any insight into why it was sitting so long and why it was not running. Also were is the leak coming from is it burning oil or is it leaking on to the ground. If it is on the ground it could be from a main seal going bad. If you are burning oil it could be from bad valve guides or bad rings.

When you get it home check the plugs first and compare them to a spark plug chart, you can find the chart in a chiltons manual they will tell you alot about how the car was running before it was parked. good luck and let us know how things are going.
