I have a 02 LS1, super charged w inter-cooler. It has been running hot or so the temp gauge says it has for the past few days. Today it hit the red line on the temp and my light came on telling me to check the gauges. I shut it down and could hear it bubbling. I was running my ac and the outside temp was 98. I then  drove home and parked it. Four hours later I went out and let it idle for 20 min, it came up to normal temp and stayed. It did not over heat at all. The fan comes on with the ac and without it on. It has coolant and no leaks. Why is it over heating? It has the hood scoop on the hood but the with the added charger I have the filter under the car. Could the air coming in the hood be canceling out the air through the fan? I know that doesn''t make much sense but who knows. Is the inter-cooler blocking the rad? Not sure of my thermostat temp but if I replace with 160 will I need to re-program the computer? Sorry, I am new to the LS1 but have a lt1 in my other car. Have not worked on the Camaro''s much, that''s why I need your help.

I don''t know what to say, other than getting a remote fan/fan switch might be smart. If it gets too high, flip the switch and down the temps go. Easy enough.

Let me add that I have only one rad fan on the left side and the right appears removed to make room for the charger. There is plate of metal that covers half the rad where the charger sits and it sits close to the rad, no room for another fan. Does this bit of info help? Is there fans that will fit on the front of the rad?
