well im looking to buy my first car which i hope will be a 90 z28 camaro i've been lookin at thats down the street from my house so anyways i was wondering what do you guys think id beable to do towards my friends 06 GT mustang?.

 

stock probley not those are pushin 300hp and a '90 Camaro 225hp get your car to about 275hp you might cause the '06 GT weighs 3,800lbsand the '90 camaro weighs about 3,100-3,200lbs plus you might want to get rid of that TPI and go with a LT1/LT4 or LS1/LS2/LS6 motor plus the LS motor will take weight off the front of the car but that my opinion on that.

 

so would the camaro even stand a chance?

 

stock for stock? he'll run away pretty easily on you bro. Not to mention his engine is alot newer than yours and that takes into affect. You'd have to do some pretty big upgrades to a 90 to hang with the 06 GT. Sorry brother

 

lot of upgrades woul be needed, but its a small block an theres a ton of parts for them so if you spend a bit you kill him, get rid of the tpi

 

i dont think the new gt's are 3800 lbs. thats GTO territory

 

so how about a newer 2002 model z28?

 

the ls1 cars are still faster than the new mustangs. new mustang pull high 13s stock, and ive seen as low as 13.6.

 

so in reality does the 90 z28 actually have power? would i really beable to take alot of the ricers around here?..

 

350 or 305 car? Either way it's not a really powerfull car. Good low end tq but they run out of breath at 4500 rpm. If you have a 305 car, than there are probably lots of ricers that will give a good run. A 305 car might run in the 16's, a 350 with the right options could be a high 14 car.
