Hello Camaro fans,

Many years ago I dreamed I would one day buy my Dad the car he sold to buy our first family house. Sadly this never came to pass, as my Dad sadly left with world. But the idea stuck, and while I don't have the funds to start yet - the first question would be - what year and model did he own.

Sorry in advance if this is the wrong place to post this or wrong way to drop images here but here goes.

Can anybody help with some info on what make and model it was that he loved so much that he'd get all dreamy just talking about it? With my limited knowledge I'm guessing it's a 66 or 67?

I've tracked down as many pictures as I could find and here they are:

Assuming he never changed the appearance of the car in any way, that would be a '67 RS/SS, with a 350 small block.

Did you want to track down that specific car, or do you just want one like it?

Trying to find that one specifically will be incredibly difficult, if not impossible. Any information you have- the VIN number, the person he sold it to, the date he sold it- that sort of thing, it'll help. But anything could have happened to it since then. It could have been sold again, crashed, scrapped, parted out- who can say?

However, finding one like it would be as simple as going on the internet and looking for one that's close to what you want. You'll just need to have deep pockets, because a car with those options, in drivable condition, won't come cheap.

Thanks for the reply. No I'm a realist - I have no information beyond the images - so the idea of buy that same car would require funds and research beyond my means. I'm hoping to buy and restore a similar model - so the idea would be to buy a scrapper or a barely running car - and restore it as best possible.

But thank you for taking the time to help point me in the right direction! Now I can at least start looking for the right car.

My brother in law is a mechanic / racer so he'll be my go-to for help and guidance during the restoration process.

I probably should mention that I live in London, UK. So I would have to import the body / parts as I go from the US as needed.

You could use Windows Photo Manager and correct the images

 

I would check the Camaro Reseach Group. They have a ton of info on the First Gen Camaro's.
